This data bank enables you to inform yourselves on a particular cosmetic component or to determine the complete profile of a product.

You will see, it is a play of child and it will be even easier and clear if you take a little time to read the indications which follow.

Indications concerning the various components
Each term INCI (component), which you finds in the data bank, is accompanied by an appreciation going by “very well” to “disadvised”.

• For each component its principal function is indicated (care of the skin, film component, conservative, etc) and its nature: vegetable (v), chemical (c), mineral (m), animal (A) or biotechnological (b). Certain components can be several natures. One will find the letter (d) then which means “various source”.
• Some cosmetic ingredients like silicones and paraffins obtain a moderate evaluation. Thus silicones are well supported by the skin but not very justifiable for ecological reasons. Therefore they obtained the ecological note “insufficient”. As for paraffins, basic components still very frequently used, they do not cause ecological damage but do not have properties looking after for the skin. This explains why the aforementioned paraffins, just like the matters close to the components resulting from mineral oils, are specifically classified like “insufficient”.
• As for the vegetable components as for example the aloe will vera (Aloe Barbadensis) or the jojoba (Simmondsia Chinensis), they differently appear in the declaration according to whether they are present in the form of oil, of extract, of powder, or other. Thus, an ingredient coming from almond can appear under the denominations: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Meal, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Protein oder Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Seed Extract.
  In this bank of data INCI, you always find the term botanical basic for the ingredients of vegetable origin and the indication which the identical mention was allotted to all the alternatives.
  Example:
  Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis
  is valid for all names INCI starting with “Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis”.
  In the same way, of the ingredients used in various forms having obtained the same appreciation are followed of an identical mention.
  Example:
  PEG-
  is valid for all terms INCI starting with “PEG”, whatever the figure which follows or the composition of the mot.
• The majority of the components having obtained a negative appreciation is followed indication “to see it…”, for example “to see the aluminum compounds” or “to see the organohalogen compounds”. In the heading “substances at the risks”, you will find detailed informations which explain why a negative appreciation was allotted.
